General Manager
I was contracted urgently to help save the Community Center for the Performing Arts at the Woodman of the World Hall, affectionately referred to as the WOW Hall. It had been run as a consensus based, co-op and had financial problems. They were in trouble. Here is what I did to get things back on track:
In less than one year I increased profits by more than 100%
Created a “What’s Your WOW Hall Story?” You Tube Campaign encouraging the community to post videos about shows they have been to. It also included videos from local elected officials and regional celebrities. The goal was to repair public opinion of the venue which had experienced some run ins with the law.
Created a new merch line with WOW Hall logo
Updated the website and social media to be more modern and user friendly
Helped to clean things up, archive and sell memorabilia items
Brought in an ATM which caused increase in sales at the bar and snack booth
Produced innovative and more kid friendly events such as the successful Guitar Hero Championship. This brought gamers on the big stage to compete in their favorite game
Increased sponsorship, memberships and general giving in support of this historical music venue
Led the RFP process to replace HVAC system
